You are cordially invited to participate in the 21st annual Appomattox County Christmas Parade & Community of Candles on Sunday, November 30th beginning at 2pm in downtown Appomattox.
Scheduled activities include:
Hot chocolate & cookies (Hosted by the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library and Girl Scout Troop 1350)
2pm - Gene Williams & Shaky Grass (Abbitt Park stage)
3pm - Christmas Parade (starts at Appomattox Primary School)
3:30pm - New Beginnings Gospel Singers w/Stanley Baker (Abbitt Park stage) *time is approximate following the parade
5pm - Community of Candles walk in the Park (Abbitt Park)
Parade entry categories are: Band, Float, Antique Tractor, Marching Unit, Antique Vehicle, and Horse(s). Entry deadline is November 25th. No entry will be taken after this date. Parade line-up will be at the Appomattox Primary School on Ferguson Street at 2pm. Download the Entry Form here. The Appomattox County Historical Society, together with the United Daughters of the Confederacy Appomattox Chapter 11, Lee's Lieutenants, and the Federal Generals Corps invite one and all to the final event on "The Long Road Home" leading to the 150th anniversary of Appomattox.
